Our Chinese Curriculum
Beginner Lessons
Did you know that each Chinese character has its own story? In our beginner lessons, we use stories, pictures, and videos to introduce basic Chinese characters, pronunciations (Pinyin), radicals, and aspects of Chinese culture in an engaging way.
Our goal is to make you fall in love with this new language! By the end of this level, you will be able to recognize over 200 Chinese characters, understand the most commonly used daily words, and have simple conversations in Mandarin Chinese.
Intermediate Lessons
With a solid foundation, you will progress through the Chinese learning process more quickly. Practical exercises and the recitation of Chinese rhymes will help develop your linguistic and cognitive skills. You will gain a deeper understanding of both contemporary and ancient Chinese language and culture in an enjoyable learning environment.
At this level, you will learn to create your own scripts and plays in Chinese, as well as use a computer to write and edit short essays in Mandarin. By the end of this level, you will be able to recognize between 500 and 1,000 characters.
Advanced Lessons
At the advanced level, you will follow a curriculum similar to that used in Chinese public schools. In addition to expanding your knowledge of Chinese characters, you will learn about Chinese history and ancient poems from the Tang and Song Dynasties.
You will be able to understand Chinese podcasts, give presentations in Chinese, read Chinese books, write academic essays in Chinese, and enjoy Chinese TV shows and movies.
HSK Prep Lessons
The Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) is an international standardized test that measures Chinese language proficiency. HSK scores are often required for international students applying for admission, graduation, and scholarships in China. For those looking to work in China, a high HSK score can demonstrate proficiency to employers and government officials, increasing the chances of obtaining a work visa.
We offer test prep lessons for HSK levels 1 through 6 to help you succeed.
